Report a mistake
If a rule on this site is wrong, out of date, or reads as though it says something the source does not, tell us. A border rule that is wrong costs a traveller money or their goods, so corrections take priority over everything else on this site.
What to send
The most useful report is short and specific:
- the page you were reading,
- what it says,
- what the authority says instead,
- and, if you have it, the document that shows it — a link, a page number, or the name of the notice.
"The Turkish cigarette allowance on this page is 600 but the customs FAQ now says 400, here is the link" is a report we can act on within the hour. "Your tobacco numbers are wrong" takes longer, but send it anyway — an unspecific report still tells us where to look.
Reports from officers, customs brokers and airline staff are especially welcome. If you enforce a rule for a living and this site describes it badly, we would rather hear it from you than keep publishing it.

What happens next
Every report is checked at the source, not against our own record. If the authority's document now says something different, the rule is corrected, re-verified and republished with a new date. If the document still says what we published, the rule stands and we will tell you which sentence it rests on — and if that sentence is ambiguous, we will make the page say so.
A report that shows a rule changed also changes the rules around it: an allowance rarely moves alone. When a correction lands, the neighbouring rules for that country are re-read too.
What we cannot help with
We cannot tell you what will happen in your particular case, intervene with an authority, advise you on a seizure or a penalty, or confirm that something will be allowed through. CarryRules is a reference, not a party to your journey. For a decision that matters, the authority's own document — linked from every rule — is what an officer will be working from.
